Job Summary

Greene County Schools is seeking a skilled Transportation Specialist to join our team. As a School Bus Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe transportation of students to and from school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obeys all traffic laws and regulations.
  • Maintains discipline among students on the bus and reports any misconduct to the principal.
  • Ensures the bus is clean and well-maintained, and reports any mechanical issues to the proper authorities.
  • Follows the assigned schedule and checks the bus before each operation for mechanical defects.
  • Notifies the authorities in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
  • Discharges students only at authorized stops and exercises responsible leadership on out-of-district school trips.
  • Reports all accidents immediately to the authorities and completes required reports.
  • Enforces regulations against tobacco usage and eating on the bus, and promotes safety among students.
  • Undergoes regular physical examinations and attends driver training classes.
  • Obeys and enforces all Greene County rules and policies for bus drivers and students.

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
