Job Title: Substance Abuse Counselor

We are seeking a qualified Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team at RHA Health Services. As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to individuals struggling with substance use disorders.

Job Summary:

The Substance Abuse Counselor will conduct groups and individual sessions to help clients achieve their recovery goals. You will work closely with clients to develop personalized treatment plans, provide education and support, and facilitate group sessions using evidence-based practices.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct substance use groups using the Matrix Model and other evidence-based practices.
  • Provide individual sessions to explore overall goals, treatment plans, and measurement of goal completion.
  • Assess further needs of individuals for successful recovery and program completion.
  • Consult with psychiatrists or other medical personnel regarding reporting behavioral observations and concerns.
  • Document treatment interventions, community support, and assessment of client progress.
  • Serve as a first responder on call for individuals in crisis.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Alcohol and Drug Professional (QSAPP) certification.
  • Master's degree in a human service field or bachelor's degree in a human service field with relevant experience.
  • One year of full-time, post-graduate degree accumulated supervised experience in substance abuse prevention or two years of full-time, post-bachelor's degree accumulated supervised experience in substance abuse prevention.
  • Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) certification by the North Carolina Certified Alcohol and Drug Professional Practice Board.
