Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct the design, development, and implementation of scalable software and data solutions to fulfill business requirements.
  • Enhance the performance and scalability of existing systems to accommodate business expansion.
  • Design and implement robust integrations between various systems and services, ensuring compatibility with legacy systems.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to establish technical strategies and roadmaps that yield significant customer outcomes.
  • Contribute to the establishment of standards and development principles across multiple teams and the organization.
  • Promote best practices for software development, code reviews, and quality assurance processes.
  • Drive consensus among engineering teams and facilitate the education of business partners through the creation of technical documentation and presentations that communicate architectural and design decisions, clearly outlining both long-term and short-term trade-offs.
  • Engage hands-on with our codebase 40-60% of the time while also acting as a force-multiplier within our engineering organization by mentoring and guiding other engineers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years of experience in designing and implementing complex systems and business application integrations with SaaS solutions.
  • 12+ years of proven success in software development and creating cloud-based, highly available, and scalable enterprise services.
  • Proficient in anticipating challenges and proactively identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Advanced familiarity with developing and scaling applications using Ruby/Ruby on Rails.
  • Expertise in database technologies such as AWS RDS, DynamoDB, and PostgreSQL, with experience in large-scale data migrations.
  • Hands-on experience with data streaming technologies and tools such as Kafka, Flink, and Spark at scale.
  • Skilled in software development lifecycle processes with experience in scrum, agile, and iterative methodologies.
  • Exceptional communication skills, fostering collaboration with teammates, partners, and stakeholders to achieve team objectives. Encourages a culture of collaboration, mentorship, and knowledge sharing within the team.
