Cellular Systems Engineer - Field Testing for Mobile Devices

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field evaluations of next-generation smartphones and devices, focusing on cellular connectivity (4 days in the field, 1 day in the lab each week).
  • Travel to various testing sites, typically within an hour's distance, dedicating full days to testing activities. Transportation will be provided.
  • Identify and communicate technical issues effectively, utilizing strong foundational skills and sound judgment.
  • Analyze testing data independently, demonstrating the ability to adapt and progress without constant assistance.
  • Ideal candidates will possess 1-5 years of relevant experience, showcasing developed fundamental skills.
  • Exhibit strong analytical capabilities and proficiency in problem identification, ensuring effective evaluation of testing conditions.
  • Report findings accurately, articulate technical challenges, and demonstrate adaptability in dynamic environments.
  • Training will be provided for candidates with basic knowledge in wireless technologies (LTE, 5GNR) who are not yet experts.

Qualifications:

  • 1-5 years of experience in cellular testing, specifically with 5G/LTE technologies.
  • Solid understanding of wireless cellular domains, particularly in 5GNR and LTE protocol stacks.
  • Experience in troubleshooting common technical issues encountered in field testing.
  • Hands-on experience with cellular baseband log analysis is required.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and sound judgment during test execution.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new challenges.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on identifying and resolving problems.
  • Willingness to travel locally and non-locally on short notice.
  • Ability to travel domestically for extended periods as needed.
  • Experience with on-field debugging through cellular log analysis is highly desirable.
  • Recent experience in field testing is strongly preferred.

Work Environment: This position is based in a dynamic field environment, requiring adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
