Job Overview

We are seeking a Plant Manager to oversee all production operations and guide the facility towards achieving its production, safety, and workforce objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership across the precursor of cathode active materials (pCAM) chemical facility to drive continuous enhancements in safety, quality, production efficiency, and cost management.
  • Supervise specialty chemical manufacturing and quality assurance teams to optimize the use of materials and equipment.
  • Lead the operational unit in effective production management, utilizing daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual oversight methods.
  • Mentor and hold accountable department managers and supervisors in the effective management of their respective teams.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Plan and implement production schedules to meet both production and facility-specific construction timelines.
  • Coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure that production and product quality meet established specifications.
  • Communicate production goals and priorities effectively to manufacturing and support teams.
  • Develop and manage the annual budget and capital expenditure requirements, acting as the program manager for all capital projects.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives for production operations, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Establish, manage, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and continuous improvement activities across all manufacturing areas.
  • Maintain accurate production and inventory records while managing KPIs.
  • Monitor and uphold all necessary production permits, ensuring compliance with local, state, federal, and company regulations.
  • Guide and develop peers in Lean practices to advance the company's application of Lean principles in collaboration with consultants and leadership.
  • Oversee employee recruitment, training, performance evaluation, documentation, compensation, and termination processes, fostering a positive and proactive work environment.
  • Effectively manage employee relations situations.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree required, preferably in engineering or a related field.
  • Master's degree or MBA is preferred.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Plant Manager.
  • Thorough understanding of US EPA and OSHA regulations.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication abilities, both written and verbal, along with presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including spreadsheets and presentation software.
  • Solid understanding of financial analysis and the ability to apply financial principles effectively.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Familiarity with environmental health and safety compliance requirements.
  • Ability to cultivate an ongoing safety culture within the organization.
  • Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
  • Eligibility to work in the US is required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to wear specific personal protective equipment, including dust masks, respirators, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection.
  • Must meet OSHA standards for manual lifting (up to 50 lbs).
  • Required to stand, walk, and use hands to operate tools and controls; reach with hands or arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch as necessary.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods (minimum of eight hours).
  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions and temperatures.
