This role oversees the overall function, staffing, planning, and budget of the Occupational and Employee Health programs, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care.
The Division Director of Workforce Health and Safety facilitates change management, fosters a culture of accountability and collaboration, and supports the development and implementation of strategies, policies, and procedures in support of facility objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Provide matrixed oversight to facility Employee Health and Occupational Health colleagues, overseeing the facilitation of large initiatives such as technology implementation, respiratory protection program, influenza vaccination, COVID response, and others.
- Develop goals, objectives, marketing, and action plans in accordance with Workforce Health and Safety's mission and strategic initiatives.
- Develop and implement systems and program plans to provide integrated services that are compatible with and satisfy the occupational needs of participating facilities across the division and patients served.
- Provide administrative direction and leadership in emergency preparedness related to Occupational and Employee Health, including emerging and reemerging diseases, bioterrorism, natural disasters, and other issues.
- Leverage various feedback mechanisms to benchmark performance and identify opportunities to improve customer/patient satisfaction.
- Build a competitively superior organization through attracting, developing, engaging, and retaining talent, ensuring people with the right skills and motivations are in the right role, at the right time, to meet business needs.
- Ensure effective labor management, including position control, scheduling excellence, productivity management, and premium pay utilization, maintaining staffing to ensure appropriate patient care.
- Stay abreast of legal and regulatory standards and ensure compliance.
- Manage operating expenses, including the utilization of supplies and equipment, identifying cost reduction opportunities and implementing actions to achieve savings.
- Maintain accountability to division and facility Workforce Health and Safety performance metrics, including vaccination compliance, injury rates, pre-hire processes, and others.
- Oversee operations, account management, and billing functions for externally provided occupational medicine services as applicable.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree (RN, APN, MD, or other clinical) preferred.
- 5+ years experience in a healthcare environment, preferably in a leadership role.
- Ability to travel to multiple markets as needed.
- Ability to communicate effectively with corporate, group, division, and hospital to meet program goals and objectives.
- Ability to evaluate the effectiveness of existing methods and procedures.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities at once with minimal supervision.
- Ability to strategize, plan, organize, and execute to meet set goals.
