Position Overview
A postdoctoral fellow opportunity is available within the research team led by Dr. Kaori Yamada in the Department of Pharmacology & Regenerative Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago.
The Yamada research group focuses on elucidating the mechanisms governing the transport of signaling molecules, particularly the receptor for growth factors that influence angiogenesis and vascular permeability.
This investigation into receptor transport presents a groundbreaking approach to understanding diseases associated with angiogenesis and vascular leakage, including cancer progression, metastasis, and ocular conditions such as diabetic retinopathy and wet age-related macular degeneration.
Utilizing a combination of murine models, cellular biology, and molecular techniques, our team aims to clarify the underlying mechanisms of pathological angiogenesis and vascular leakage in these conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
The postdoctoral fellow will be responsible for designing and executing experiments related to the research projects within the Yamada laboratory.
Essential Qualifications:
Applicants must possess a Ph.D. or an MD/Ph.D. degree to qualify for this postdoctoral position.
Extensive experience in molecular biology, cellular biology, and transgenic mouse models is required.
Candidates should demonstrate self-motivation and a collaborative spirit.
