Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated OSP Designer to join our Utility Design Engineering group in Tampa, FL. As an OSP Designer at Colliers Engineering & Design, you will be responsible for planning, designing, documenting, and permitting proposed new outside plant backbone, middle mile, and FTTx build-outs.
You will work closely with our team to assist with fielding tasks, develop a strong understanding of applicable building codes and design codes, and work with jurisdiction documentation to determine design parameters within Right-of-Way.
Responsibilities:- Assist with fielding tasks (engineering design notetaking for both aerial and underground, pole data collection, etc.).
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of Telecom, Fiber-Outside Plant (OSP) design (FTTX, MDU, wiring diagrams, splicing schematics, equipment types, etc.).
- Design and draft permit drawings with minimal guidance.
- Prepare specialty drawings (i.e., Utility Company submittals, Railroads, Interstate crossings, landmark designs, etc.) with parameters provided.
- Design and implement Fiber-Optic networks (FTTx) using ArcGIS software, or client-designated software, with parameters provided.
