At Antech Diagnostics, we are committed to enhancing the health of pets through exceptional veterinary services. As a Parasitology Laboratory Technician, you will be integral in conducting laboratory evaluations and tests that contribute to the overall well-being of animals.
JOB PURPOSE:
- Conducts laboratory tests, ensuring accurate setup, execution, and reporting.
- Performs essential diagnostic procedures including fecal egg counts, Giardia ELISA tests, and Parvovirus antigen assays.
- Utilizes critical thinking to assess and communicate test outcomes.
- Assists in the upkeep and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Engages in initiatives aimed at enhancing laboratory efficiency and quality control.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A high school diploma or equivalent, complemented by relevant experience in parasitology or veterinary technology.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficient laboratory skills, including the ability to set up and conduct tests.
- Familiarity with medical and laboratory terminology.
- Meticulous attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills and a constructive attitude.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to sit for extended periods, stand for up to 2 hours, and occasionally lift items weighing up to 20 lbs.
- Specific visual and auditory capabilities are necessary.
- Fluency in English and willingness to work extended hours when necessary.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Laboratory environment with potential exposure to biohazards.
- Operates under supervision with clear instructions provided.
- May encounter hazardous chemicals and zoonotic diseases.
