About the Role

Cook Children's Health Care System is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team in Fort Worth, Texas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform clinical laboratory testing, including waived, moderate complexity, and high complexity tests, to ensure accurate and timely results.
  • Use analytical judgment to identify technical and process problems and ensure test systems are functioning properly.
  • Work independently to resolve technical problems within scope of authority and notify management as needed.
  • Staff hours, rotate temporary on-call, and perform other duties as assigned to meet laboratory and organizational goals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology/Clinical or Medical Laboratory Science or an appropriate biological, chemical, or physical science.
  • Minimum six months experience performing laboratory testing in a clinical setting.
  • Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent nationally recognized certifying agency.
  • Registry eligible candidates must pass the certifying exam within one year of graduation.
