Detention Deputy

Charleston County, SC is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Detention Deputy to join our team. As a Detention Deputy, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our residents and staff. This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Conduct interviews and assessments to determine the needs of residents
• Provide general case management and support to residents
• Work closely with the Case Management Supervisor and Resident Programs Coordinator to assist residents in gaining new skills and becoming active participants in the community
• Perform collateral duties on specialized teams, including Booking, Identification, Classification, Emergency Response Team, Transportation, Court Detention, Juvenile Detention Center, and Central Control

• Citizen of the United States over 18 years of age
• Certified Detention Deputy with 7 years' detention/corrections experience and knowledge of classification, programs, and courts
• Valid driver's license with the ability to obtain a South Carolina license upon acceptance of the position
• No criminal convictions
