Job Summary

UNC Health is seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer to join our team in Lenoir, North Carolina. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of patient care, technical, and diagnostic tasks targeted to the care of patients with cardiovascular disease.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Employ radiologic sciences technology to perform ultrasound imaging, patient preparation, and post-procedure care.
  • Assist cardiologists in reading and interpreting ultrasound images.
  • Ensure equipment is calibrated and properly maintained on a daily basis.
  • Perform and record all equipment maintenance and quality assurance monitoring.
  • Troubleshoot and identify any equipment problems and report to the appropriate supervisor.
  • Monitor and record patient information and maintain report storage and data systems.
  • Compile and enter data necessary for charge entry and prepare reports.
  • Prepare procedure rooms and equipment for daily use and ensure timely and efficient room preparation between procedures.
Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in Sonography, Radiology, or a related field within 3 months of hire.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS), Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or registry eligible and become registered within one (1) year from date of hire.
  • No prior experience required.
Work Environment:

This is a full-time position with a standard 40-hour workweek. The work schedule is day shifts, with 8 hours per day.
