As a Heavy Equipment Service Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Inspecting and Diagnosing: Thoroughly examine and identify issues with various types of heavy machinery.
- Repairing and Maintaining: Execute repairs and perform maintenance tasks to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Utilizing Resources: Leverage problem-solving tools, technical manuals, and your own expertise to address equipment challenges.
- Parts Management: Coordinate with the parts department to procure necessary components for repairs and monitor the status of machinery.
- Planning Repairs: Strategically plan and execute the sequence of repairs to enhance efficiency.
- Conducting Major Repairs: Handle significant repairs including engine overhauls, gasket replacements, and hydraulic system repairs.
- Documentation: Prepare detailed inspection and service reports, maintaining accurate records as required.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to company policies and government regulations while maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
In this role, you will work at various customer locations, often in diverse weather conditions, addressing maintenance needs and customer inquiries regarding equipment.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of recent experience as a service technician specializing in heavy equipment and diesel engines.
- Preferred experience with John Deere machinery.
- A vocational or technical degree, or equivalent work experience.
- Strong knowledge of service department operations and heavy equipment technology.
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
