The Head Cashier plays a crucial role within the Star Nursery team, often being the first point of contact for customers entering our stores. This position is essential in ensuring that the final step of the shopping experience is smooth and enjoyable. The Head Cashier is responsible for accurately processing sales transactions while fostering a positive and professional atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Process customer transactions efficiently.
  2. Maintain a clean and organized front-end area.
  3. Answer incoming phone calls professionally.
  4. Assist in stocking merchandise as needed.
  5. Ensure merchandise is well-presented and dusted.
  6. Verify consistent pricing throughout the store.
  7. Perform floor sweeping as required.
  8. Create and order signage when necessary.
  9. Dispose of trash appropriately.
  10. Restock shelves and end caps to maintain inventory levels.
  11. Supervise and support other Cashiers.

Physical Requirements:

This role involves frequent bending, twisting, and movement of the arms and legs. The Head Cashier will be standing for the majority of the time, with occasional climbing. The position requires the ability to lift and move items weighing up to 35 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. The role demands constant hand and eye coordination, as well as dexterity in handling merchandise.
