Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Health Officer to join our team at the United States Air Force. As a Public Health Officer, you will play a critical role in promoting health and preventing disease among our Airmen and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct epidemiological surveillance of health and disease trends in populations
  • Monitor food safety practices and sanitation levels in public and food service facilities
  • Develop and implement public health programs to prevent and control communicable diseases
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive healthcare services
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest public health research and best practices
Requirements
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or Master of Public Health degree (MPH/MSPH) from an accredited institution
  • Completion of the basic Public Health Officer (PHO) course and the Contingency Preventive Medicine (CPM) course
  • Completion of Officer Training School
  • Must be between the ages of 18 and have not reached your 42nd birthday
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of basic epidemiology, microbiology, food technology and hygiene, communicable diseases, occupational and environmental health, and medical entomology
  • Experience working in public health or a related field
