Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist to join our team at Burrell Behavioral Health. As a key member of our dental team, you will play a vital role in providing preventative and therapeutic dental care, educating patients on oral hygiene, and assisting in various dental procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Perform oral prophylaxis, provide oral hygiene instructions, and educate patients on the importance of professional dental care.
- Apply topical fluoride treatments and place sealants to protect against tooth decay.
- Screen and evaluate patients for caries, periodontal pathology, oral cancer, and review medical history for thorough care.
- Expose radiographs and perform supra and subgingival scaling along with root planing to maintain oral health.
- Assist in periodontal surgical techniques and perform gross debridement for acute periodontal conditions.
- Perform expanded duties where qualified, including administering local anesthetics for patient comfort.
- Conduct oral health assessments and accurately document patient medical history and treatment details.
- Deliver preventive and therapeutic dental treatments while maintaining detailed, accurate records in patient files.
- Provide patient care with patience, compassion, and understanding, ensuring a positive experience.
- Initiate and maintain comprehensive dental prevention and education programs to improve patient outcomes.
- Assist in the training and development of dental assistants, enhancing team performance.
Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Dental Hygiene.
- Licensed as a Registered Dental Hygienist by the State of Missouri.
- Maintain current CPR certification.
- Previous experience desired but not required.
- Must be willing to become licensed in additional states beyond the current state of licensure.
- Must be comfortable providing telehealth services to the individuals we serve.
