Corning Incorporated is seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our research team as a Research Intern. This is a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and contribute to the development of innovative materials and technologies.
Job SummaryThe Research Intern will support the development of fundamental understanding of the thermal, biological, or mechanical properties in glass and glass-ceramics. The intern will conduct experiments, design test plans, and explore new ways to achieve desired material attributes.
Key Responsibilities- Perform background literature searches and execute a research plan
- Document the results of the research by the end of the summer and give a final presentation of project outputs
- Learn new techniques and methods as needed to support the project objectives
- Assist in the design of experiments, communicate observations, perform related measurements, collect, and summarize data
- Work with scientists to plan and carry out required experiments to advance progress against project objectives
- Pursuing MS or PhD in Ceramic Engineering, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering, or similar discipline
- Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2025 (May-August 2025) with a graduation date of December 2025 or later
- Be interested in working for Corning Incorporated after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity
