Job Overview

The Collector Specialist role at Illinois Educators Credit Union is a vital position that plays a crucial part in preserving the organization's assets by helping members overcome debt challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contacting members via phone and mail to address delinquent obligations, ensuring timely and accurate communications.
  • Assisting members with workout solutions and making recommendations for repossession of collateral and charge-offs.
  • Maintaining accurate files and reports on collections and recovery activity, including trends and forecasting.
  • Monitoring outside collection agencies and attorneys, posting payments, and reviewing Collections Reports with the manager.
  • Providing critical operational updates to the management team and recommending necessary actions.

About You:

We're looking for a skilled professional with 1-3 years of experience in collections or a related field. Your strong interpersonal skills will enable you to handle sensitive discussions with diplomacy and tact. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer functions is essential. A bachelor's degree is preferred, but an Associate's degree with relevant certifications can be equivalent.
