Job Overview
The City and County of San Francisco is seeking an experienced Major Sites Principal Planner to join its development team. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in leading major planning initiatives on Treasure Island and Yerba Buena Island.

About the Role
As a Major Sites Principal Planner, you will coordinate site design, feasibility studies, and public processes for large-scale sites. You will work closely with City departments, stakeholders, and the public to ensure that site developments are feasible, sustainable, and aligned with the City's goals for a vibrant and inclusive community.

Main Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee the design, feasibility, community engagement, permitting, and acceptance phases for large sites on Treasure Island.
  • Lead public processes related to major site development, facilitating community dialogue, and ensuring transparency and public input in project planning.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure cohesive planning and problem-solving across key development areas.

Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must have at least 4 years of experience in urban development, public engagement, or community redevelopment, including supervisory/management experience. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university is also required.
