Job Summary

The Banquet Houseperson is a vital member of our events team, responsible for ensuring seamless event spaces for banquets, conferences, and special events. This role requires attention to detail, physical labor, and collaboration with colleagues to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

A Day in the Life
  • Promote Regent's service philosophy and style through our people attributes.
  • Maintain impeccable personal grooming standards to uphold the professional and property style of the resort.
  • Set up rooms and function areas in the resort, adhering to departmental standards.
  • Maintain standards of hygiene for food handling and presentation.
  • Review assignment sheets with the Banquet Captain and update completed assignments.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of daily scheduled group functions, times, locations, and guest requirements.
  • Set up rooms and function areas with designated tables, chairs, staging, and equipment as specified by group requirements.
  • Break down function areas as scheduled, adhering to departmental procedures.
  • Coordinate deep cleaning of conference rooms.
  • Inspect set rooms for cleanliness and agreement to group requirements, rectifying any deficiencies.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all Departmental/Resort policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
  • Use correct cleaning chemicals for designated items/surfaces, according to Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations and resort requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting other departments on an as-needed basis.
What We Need from You
  • A warm and caring personality, with previous banquet experience an asset.
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to anticipate and focus attention on guest needs, being professional and welcoming.
  • Knowledge of various room set-ups and standard equipment involved.
  • Knowledge of proper chemical handling and cleaning techniques.
  • Ability to adhere to timelines in completion of set-ups.
  • Ability to perform in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to read instructions and follow cleaning schedules.
  • Carrying or lifting items weighing more than 75 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, stoop, and bend repetitively.
  • Must be ServeSafe and TIPS/RBS certified.
  • Flexible schedule, able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

The hourly pay rate for this role is $20.04 to $25.05, plus tips. This rate is only applicable for jobs to be performed at Regent Santa Monica Beach.
