Automotive Painter

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Automotive Painter to join our team at Amtec Global Solutions Inc. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an autobody shop, with a strong background in painting and coatings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate manual and automatic painting equipment to apply finishes to prescribed specifications.
• Set up and operate automatic paint lines and hand-painting booths.
• Prepare sprayers for use and maintain all equipment.
• Select and mix coating liquids to produce desired properties and color.
• Clean and maintain all spraying equipment and brushes with solvent.
• Inspect work in process, including paint thickness and documentation.
• Perform minor paint and preparation duties, such as stripping and cleaning improperly finished parts.
• Remove rust or old paint from metal with acid, wire brush, or steel wool.
• Maintain control of on-hand consumable paint supplies.
• Display proper handling of all equipment and waste, including hazardous waste.
• Observe all safety rules and regulations and maintain the work area in a neat and orderly condition.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing process, preferably in an autobody shop.
• Proficient in reading, understanding, and following blueprints, specifications, and verbal instructions.
• Able to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Effectively applies lean initiatives and maintains operational and quality metrics.
• Demonstrates effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Working Conditions:

• While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods.
• Regular attendance and the ability to work cooperatively and professionally with others are expected.

Physical Demands:

• May be required to lift up to 50 lbs.
