Position Overview
The Heart Institute at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital is in search of a dedicated Physician Assistant to join our esteemed team in a per diem role. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in assisting surgeons during surgical procedures and providing essential perioperative care. This position serves as a crucial connection between pediatric cardiac surgery, pediatric cardiology, and the CVICU teams, facilitating collaboration across various departments including nursing, pharmacy, and imaging to ensure holistic patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Support surgical teams during procedures.
- Deliver comprehensive perioperative care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
- Provide both inpatient and outpatient services.
- Be available within 30 minutes for emergency procedures.
Qualifications
Candidates must possess a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (or an equivalent Master's degree) from an ARC-PA accredited program and hold a valid Physician Assistant Certification. Additionally, a BLS and PALS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, along with a Florida license, is required by the time of hire.
