About the Role
As a Surgical Medsurg Nurse Intern, you will provide high-quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care tasks related to common nursing functions and daily living activities.
Under the guidance of a registered nurse (RN), you will assist the nursing team in delivering patient care in alignment with your skills and the needs of the department, while also helping to maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient care environment.
The ideal candidate is currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program and is in good academic standing, with the ability to perform advanced procedures once competency is established.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care for the patient populations served in your department.
- Communicate relevant information to the appropriate team members.
- Deliver compassionate, holistic care while upholding the rights and dignity of all patients.
- Document patient care information accurately in the designated systems.
- Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) for assigned patients.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Enrollment in an accredited RN nursing program, with eligibility to serve as a Nurse Intern after completing the first nursing semester or being a CNA in the first semester of the RN program.
- Completion of Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training within 30 days of starting employment.
