Job Summary

Copper Mountain Community College District is seeking a highly qualified Part-Time Sociology Instructor to join our faculty team. As a Part-Time Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching assigned classes and contributing to the advancement of our institution's values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned classes and laboratories, adhering to the published class schedule.
  • Publish and maintain office hours, advising students on course content, scope, and meaning, as well as grading criteria.
  • Develop and implement instruction for each class or laboratory period, ensuring consistency with course requirements and academic standards.
  • Periodically assess and advise students of their progress toward meeting course objectives.
  • Respect student rights as specified in District policy and applicable federal and state laws or regulations.
  • Supervise students in off-campus activities when participation is expected as part of a course requirement.
  • Assign and submit grades by deadline, in accordance with District policy and administrative procedure.
  • Keep official records, collect data, and submit records by deadlines as required by District policy and administrative procedures.
Qualifications
  • Master's in sociology or Bachelor's in sociology and Master's in anthropology, ethnic studies, social work, or psychology.
  • Formal training and experience in online teaching.
