Position Overview:
The Physical Therapist is responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing comprehensive Physical Therapy programs aimed at restoring function and enhancing the physical capabilities of patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough evaluations of patients to determine their physical therapy needs and develop tailored care plans.
- Utilize various assessment techniques to gather and analyze data, ensuring a holistic approach to patient care.
- Set achievable functional goals in collaboration with patients and provide evidence-based interventions to facilitate progress.
- Maintain accurate documentation of evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, referral sources, and other healthcare professionals regarding patient progress and treatment adjustments.
- Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants and Rehabilitation Technicians as required by licensure.
Physical Demands:
- Adequate hearing and vision (corrected) for effective communication and documentation.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds and assisting patients with mobility.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic clinical environment with both indoor and occasional outdoor settings.
Qualifications:
- Valid NC license for Physical Therapy is mandatory.
- Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association is required.
Educational Background:
- A Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy is essential.
- Continued professional development and adherence to industry standards are expected.
