Job Summary

This role is responsible for performing a variety of tasks to maintain all buildings on campus, including pressure washing, painting, and inspecting buildings and equipment to ensure good and safe operating conditions. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of carpentry, commercial painting, commercial plumbing, basic electrical, HVAC, and other related trades work. Additionally, the candidate should possess strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:
  • Performing routine servicing of mechanical and plumbing systems as part of the preventative maintenance program.
  • Troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing mechanical and plumbing systems/devices.
  • Generating, responding, and updating work order system once per day regarding progress and/or upon completion of assignments.
  • Assisting with emergency and/or special Facilities maintenance projects.
  • Providing basic support to staff Telecommunications Specialist with installation and telecommunication devices repair.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Two years of relevant experience or a combination of post-high school education and experience equal to two years.
  • HS diploma or GED.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds, climb ladders/use lifts, walk significant distances, and work in small spaces.
  • Valid driver's license or the ability to obtain prior to hire.

Working Conditions

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines and varying work schedules. The incumbent may be required to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, or holidays based on the needs of The Ringling. This position is based in Sarasota, FL, and requires successful completion of a criminal history background check to include fingerprinting.
