Position Overview

The Operations Excellence Manager will spearhead the implementation of Lean methodologies within the Order to Invoice process, focusing on enhancements in Material, Labor, and Overhead through our SAP ERP system. This role is pivotal in cultivating a culture of continuous improvement across the organization, with opportunities for career advancement based on performance and initiative.

Key Responsibilities
  • Champion Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VA/VE) initiatives and lead problem-solving efforts throughout the business unit.
  • Conduct and facilitate VA/VE workshops with both internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Encourage and manage cost-saving idea generation from various stakeholders.
  • Deliver training on problem-solving techniques and oversee their application across the unit.
  • Exhibit strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Utilize Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement projects and initiatives.
  • Ensure alignment with business objectives through proactive action plans.
  • Lead and instruct teams in the application of Lean tools, including:
  1. Value Stream Mapping and Analysis
  2. Kaizen Events
  3. Lean Six Sigma Projects
  4. Standard Work & Process Control
  5. 5S & Visual Workplace Management
Qualifications
  • Results-driven with a strong focus on achieving objectives.
  • Proficient in developing process controls and quality standards.
  • Extensive knowledge of Lean manufacturing and Continuous Improvement practices.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Able to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency in addressing customer needs.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is essential.
  • Previous experience with SAP is advantageous.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Working conditions involve regular physical activity, including reaching and carrying items, as well as effective communication.
Education and Experience
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline is required.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Lean, Lean Six Sigma, Operational Excellence, or Continuous Improvement roles within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Proven experience as a lead facilitator for at least 10 Kaizen events resulting in significant improvements in productivity, working capital, and quality.
