We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist III - Lathe Setup Specialist to join our team at Northeast Tool & Manufacturing. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC lathes to produce high-quality parts.
Key Responsibilities- Setup and Operation of CNC Lathes: Set up and operate CNC lathes to produce high-quality parts, following blueprints and engineering models.
- Programming and Interpretation: Interpret G-Code programming and set up CNC lathes to run complex machining operations.
- Tooling and Fixtures: Select and install tooling into tool posts or indexing heads, and align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and accessories.
- Quality Control: Run first-piece checks to verify dimensional adjustments on machining cuts, and comply with inspection requirements outlined by the Quality Department.
- Maintenance and Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized work area, and perform total preventative maintenance activities to ensure optimal machine performance.
- Material Handling: Load and unload raw material or parts into machining centers.
- Mathematical Calculations: Calculate complex and/or component angles and dimensions, and use digital measurement tools to ensure dimensional accuracy and precision.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of machining experience with a familiarity of G-Code programming.
- Skills: Proven experience as a lathe CNC Machinist in the manufacturing field, including multi-axis lathes; ability to maintain tight tolerances; and experience with basic shop math, and familiarity with GD&T.
- Software and Tools: Experience with Siemens and/or Fanuc Controls, and proficiency with DMG Mori, Grob, Okuma, or Makino machine tools.
- Education: Associate degree from an accredited college or university.
- Experience: Previous experience in an AS9100 Environment; experience with high temp alloys, such as Inconel and Monel; and machining credentials/certifications.
- Software and Tools: Proficiency with Mastercam, specifically 2023 or newer; and experience with automation in manufacturing processes.
