Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and optimize secure infrastructure and platform operations that prioritize security from the ground up.
  • Establish standards and best practices for Platform Engineering, including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and automation, while integrating security measures in a cutting-edge R&D environment.
  • Lead and participate in threat modeling, security assessments, and design evaluations to identify vulnerabilities and enhance the overall security framework related to platform infrastructure and critical research data.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert in platform and infrastructure security, providing insights to high-level technical research teams and external collaborators.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in DevSecOps and Platform Infrastructure Engineering, with a strong foundation in software development or cloud/network infrastructure.
  • Extensive knowledge of emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and mitigation strategies for contemporary platform infrastructure.
  • Ability to identify and articulate gaps in security, communicate risks and opportunities, and devise solutions that enhance risk management and optimize DevSecOps practices.
  • Experience in leading collaborative risk mitigation initiatives, working alongside product and engineering teams in an advanced R&D laboratory setting.
  • Proficient in Infrastructure as Code solutions such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies.
  • A commitment to mentoring and guiding others, along with experience in client-facing roles.

Compensation:

  • Base salary ranging from $175,000 to $195,000, determined by mutual fit, depth of engineering expertise, credentials, and leadership capabilities in Platform Security.
