Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Hand Therapist to join our team in a Mid-Sized Hospital based out-patient Orthopaedic Clinic. In collaboration with a Fellowship trained Orthopaedic Hand Surgeon, you will provide evaluation, treatment, and education to patients with upper extremity injuries/conditions.

About the Role
  • You will have the autonomy to develop and grow a clinic-based OT hand therapy clinic, creating a unique opportunity for growth and professional development.
  • The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Evaluation of patients with upper extremity injuries/conditions, including assessment of functional abilities and identification of treatment goals.
  2. Development and implementation of individualized treatment plans, incorporating evidence-based practice and best practices in hand therapy.
  3. Collaboration with the orthopaedic hand surgeon and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care and effective communication.
  4. Maintenance of accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • A degree in Occupational Therapy (OT) or equivalent qualification.
  • Current registration as an OT in [State/Country] and eligibility for membership of relevant professional organizations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in hand therapy, with a strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing education.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is $90,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. The hospital offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, superannuation, and paid leave.
