Job Summary

This role applies medical ultrasound to patients in accordance with a doctor's order, working within the scope of practice defined by the Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonography and American Society Radiologic Technologists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality ultrasound procedures under minimal supervision, utilizing diagnostic ultrasound imaging equipment.
  • Document calibration procedures for individual imaging equipment.
  • Coordinate and organize emergent cases, evaluating and acting to maintain efficiency and maximize productivity.
  • Assist the Radiologist in performing invasive biopsy procedures using the Ultrasound system to pinpoint exact anatomical location(s) of a specified diseased area for specimen evaluation and diagnosis.
  • Ensure accurate charging and submission of procedures for correct billing.
  • Maintain the Ultrasound room's inventory, checking equipment and computer status for readiness, and reporting any problems that could impact workflow.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the associate's immediate supervisor or manager on duty.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent.
  • Minimum 1-year scanning experience in Abdomen, OB/GYN, Vascular, and Breast Ultrasound preferred.
  • ARDMS or ARRT/Sonography certification in Abdomen required within one year.
  • LRST/ARRT Radiologic Technology License preferred.
  • Certification in OB/GYN or Breast preferred.
  • Current BLS (American Heart Association) required.
