Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Preoperative and Transfusion Services team. As a RN - Pre-Op/Transfusion Nurse, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical services, providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Perform direct patient care following an individualized plan of care, including assessment, intervention, and re-evaluation of the patient.
- Document patient care given in Med-Host, Nextgen, and Exit Care (EMR systems).
- Assess, monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Assist patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Collaborate with the care team to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Evaluate learning needs of patient and/or family and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
- Work as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
- Follow Infection Control and Safety Guidelines.
- Minimum Education: Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- Current unrestricted State of Kentucky Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact license.
- Minimum one year experience in surgical services.
- One year experience as a Circulating Registered Nurse (RN) preferred.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) within 60 days of hire, Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred, Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) preferred, Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) preferred.
