Key ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Infusion Pharmacist plays a critical role in the procurement, preparation, dispensing, and administration of medications, adhering to established professional standards and regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing comprehensive drug information to healthcare professionals, patients, and their families.
- Functioning as a staff pharmacist and stepping in as the Pharmacy Manager when necessary.
- Overseeing the daily purchasing of pharmaceuticals and ensuring compliance with departmental policies.
- Supervising and mentoring pharmacy staff, including pharmacists and technicians.
- Managing pharmacy operations in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager.
- A minimum of one year of experience in a hospital pharmacy or infusion center is required.
- Experience in oncology pharmacy is preferred, along with an approved residency.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy is mandatory.
- Training in compliance with the 340B Drug Program is necessary.
- A valid California Registered Pharmacist license is required.
- Strong professional judgment and effective communication skills are essential.
- Ability to analyze complex systems and implement effective solutions.
- Capability to work collaboratively with team members, patients, and the public.
- In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical practices and services.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pharm.D. degree is preferred.
- Completion of an ASHP accredited hospital oncology or infusion residency is advantageous.
- Board Certification as an Oncology Pharmacist (BCOP) is preferred.
- Experience in retail pharmacy is a plus.
