RTI International is a leading research institute dedicated to improving the human condition. We are seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Data Collection Specialists for our National Household Enumeration Study (NHES).

About the Role:

The Data Collection Specialist will be responsible for collecting data about television viewing and household composition through in-person screenings and interviews with study participants. This role requires excellent communication skills, fluency in both English and Spanish, and the ability to work independently in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Travel to selected locations to recruit study participants, averaging 50-75 miles from residence
  • Making in-person contact with selected respondents to discuss the study, answer questions, and obtain participation
  • Collecting confidential information and administering standardized questionnaires
  • Independently managing administrative duties, including participating in conference calls and completing online trainings
  • Transmitting data as scheduled
  • Assuming full and legal responsibility for use and care of project-issued equipment
  • Safeguarding any participant incentives, issued equipment, or project materials against damage, loss, or theft
  • Submitting timely and accurate Time & Expense reports
  • Virtually attend scheduled meetings with other members of the project team
  • Administering a short screening interview
  • Recruiting respondents for a longer main interview, if selected
  • Maintaining regular access to a reliable wireless internet connection in your home for project work

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years old at the time of employment
  • Must possess High School Diploma or GED
  • Possess effective communication skills through speech and listening
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish through reading, writing, and speaking
  • Available for entire training and data collection period
  • Able to successfully complete training
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable personal automobile available for business use
  • Comfortable using RTI issued tablet, laptop and other associated equipment
  • Access to password-protected Wi-Fi connection for data transmissions and administrative responsibilities
  • Able to keep project information confidential

Salary: $25/hour, based on experience and geographical location. Estimated weekly hours: 25 hours per week, with an average of 4 days per week. Flexible work schedule, with majority of work during evenings and weekends.
