We are seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team at OrthoCincy. The successful candidate will assist providers with patient care by performing clinical and clerical duties.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the delivery of healthcare and patient care management.
Provide patient education per provider protocol.
Maintain patient information in an electronic health records system.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, providers, and co-workers.
Maintain clinical quality assurance standards.
Ensure clerical responsibilities and patient information are completed in a timely manner as assigned.
Adhere to the medical assistant scope of practice per federal/state laws.
Compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and safety standards of the practice.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Medical certification required and one year experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
CPR/AED and First Aid Certification preferred.
Schedules will change as department needs change, including overtime and weekends. Travel as needed.
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of electronic health records and practice management systems.
Knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA guidelines.
Knowledge of medical practice care and terminology.
Strong skill in tact and diplomacy in interpersonal interactions.
Strong critical thinking skills.
Strong customer service skills.
Strong teamwork skills.
Work Environment:
Medical office and exam/procedure room settings.
Standing and walking 90% of the time.
Must be able to use appropriate body mechanics techniques when making necessary patient transfers and helping patients with walking, dressing, etc.
Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.
