This is a unique opportunity to take on a pivotal role in supporting IT audit initiatives within a process-oriented Internal Audit function. As a Senior IT Audit Specialist, you will be instrumental in driving the next phase of your career with Adtalem Global Education, located in a vibrant urban setting.
Your expertise in IT auditing will be essential as you engage in planning, developing, testing, analyzing, and evaluating IT controls and processes. By assessing and interpreting audit results, you will provide valuable recommendations for corrective actions and enhancements to ensure optimal IT operations. Your contributions will be vital as you prepare and review documentation, manage project timelines, and identify risks for thorough evaluation.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive IT audits focusing on IT general controls, information security, system implementations, IT governance, and operational processes.
- Document management processes and evaluate IT controls through detailed walkthroughs, observations, and inquiries.
- Identify risks and key control activities while driving initiatives for process enhancement.
- Prepare high-quality written deliverables, including workpapers and audit reports, detailing the scope, procedures undertaken, findings, and conclusions.
- Maintain current knowledge of Adtalem's IT processes and systems.
- Ensure timely project completion within assigned budgets through proactive management.
- Collaborate closely with external auditors to align on audit scope, timing, and deliverables.
- Communicate effectively within the Internal Audit team to keep all members informed of changes and developments.
- Interact professionally with personnel at all levels, handling confidential matters with discretion.
- Exhibit a professional demeanor and adhere to the standards set by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
- Foster positive relationships with process owners and complete additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required.
- Professional certification (CISA, CISSP, CPA, or CIA) is preferred.
- A minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience with a focus on IT auditing is essential.
- Experience with a Big 4 public accounting firm is advantageous.
- Proficient knowledge of Windows/Linux operating systems.
- Strong understanding of PCAOB & IIA Standards, COSO, NIST, COBIT, and ITIL frameworks.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, self-motivation, attention to detail, and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple assignments, and navigate ambiguity effectively.
