Position Overview

As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating powered industrial equipment, including both stand-up and sit-down forklifts equipped with forks or clamps. Your primary duties will involve loading and unloading pallets and cases, picking and staging orders, and managing general forklift operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform operations with a strong emphasis on safety.
  • Preferred experience with sit-down forklifts.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in forklift operation and warehouse settings.
  • Demonstrate efficiency in all assigned tasks.
  • Utilize forklifts to put away inbound shipments and move products to designated storage areas.
  • Pick cases individually onto pallets using powered equipment.
  • Prepare products for shipment, ensuring accuracy in quantity and item selection.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports to ensure inventory integrity.
  • Report any quality discrepancies.
  • Keep the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Assist with physical inventory counts as needed.
  • Conduct daily inspections of equipment.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
  • Ensure proper stock rotation practices.
  • Complete a forklift training program satisfactorily.
  • Adhere to all OSHA and MSDS regulations.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow instructions, as well as code relevant documents.

Qualifications

  • Must successfully pass a Forklift Driving Skills assessment.
  • This role requires the ability to lift cases weighing between 20-45 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Proficient in basic forklift operations, including maneuvering in tight spaces.
  • Experience with racking systems and loading/unloading pallets.
  • Familiarity with operational standards, including OSHA requirements.

Safety Responsibilities

  • Adhere to health and safety regulations.
  • Enforce operating instructions and safety protocols.
  • Assist in establishing warehouse standards and procedures.
  • Maintain detailed records of safety incidents.
  • Designate safety personnel as needed.
  • Ensure the warehouse is maintained in a clean, safe, and organized manner.
