Position Overview:
We are seeking a qualified candidate for the role of Quarry Superintendent at our Butler Hills Granite Quarry. This position presents an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to deepen their expertise in aggregate rock operations while working with state-of-the-art equipment. The Quarry Superintendent will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, managing production processes, and achieving budgetary and staffing objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to and enforce Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) regulations in collaboration with the Safety Manager.
  • Oversee all production activities, including drilling, blasting, and quality assurance of final products.
  • Ensure that all quarry equipment is well-maintained and operational at the beginning of each production shift.
  • Review and enhance existing maintenance strategies to maximize operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Area Production Manager and Area Sales Manager to assess inventory needs and production requirements.
  • Foster employee development through ongoing training, coaching, and performance management.
  • Coordinate with the Mine Development Department to ensure efficient limestone extraction according to the mine design plan.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in quarry operations and personnel management.
  • Proven ability to build effective teams and mentor staff.
  • Strong commitment to ethical practices.
  • Self-driven with the capability to work independently or collaboratively.
  • Focus on continuous improvement and problem-solving.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
