Resident Caregiver Job Description

The Resident Caregiver plays a vital role in ensuring the comfort and well-being of our residents by providing personal care, food service, housekeeping, and laundry services. This includes assisting with daily living activities, managing behavior, and promoting socialization and activities. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a high level of patience and empathy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Provide food service, including meal preparation and serving
  • Perform housekeeping and laundry duties to maintain a clean and comfortable living environment
  • Manage behavior and provide emotional support to residents
  • Promote socialization and activities to enhance the quality of life for residents

Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Basic reading and writing skills, and ability to speak English in an understandable manner
  • Knowledge and experience in working with elderly, previous dementia experience preferred
  • Certification required according to state regulations, must successfully complete the required Springhouse's/Arden Courts' training

Working Conditions:
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and squat for prolonged periods
  • Ability to push and pull objects and lift and carry up to 50 pounds, unassisted, on a frequent basis
  • Full use of hands, arms, and legs (for washing, bathing, dressing, writing, cleaning)
