Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Distribution Planning and Electrical Engineering Specialist to join our team at Leidos in the Detroit, MI area. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing distribution planning, conducting distributed energy resource (DER) interconnection impact studies, arc flash assessments, and other tasks as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct distribution planning studies, including load flow analysis and transmission protection system evaluation.
  • Develop and implement self-healing network configurations to improve grid resilience.
  • Collaborate with local clients to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Analyze electrical power calculations and interact with other disciplines, including substation, protection & controls, design, and civil structural teams.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in distribution studies and technical roles.
  • Proficiency in software such as Milsoft's WindMil, DNV GL's SynerGi, and/or Cyme's Cymdist.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with ability to work collaboratively with diverse backgrounds and geographic locations.
