CHS Inc. is a leading global agribusiness seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Feed Bagger. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, contributing to the formulation of high-quality ingredients and essential products for agriculture.
Key Responsibilities- Perform general labor duties efficiently and effectively, adhering to company policies and government regulations.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of commodities handled at the location, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner, providing excellent customer service.
- Prepare trucks and railcars for loading/unloading, which may involve sampling, loosening large nuts, opening hatches, and attaching/detaching flexible hoses.
- Load and unload agricultural inputs from railcars and/or trucks using heavy or light-duty machinery/equipment, including bulk and packaged materials.
- Monitor and control all load-out functions, ensuring accurate and efficient operations.
- Operate automated scale/dump systems, maintaining a high level of accuracy and efficiency.
- Conduct and record daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks, including lubrication of pumps, valves, and loading arms, as well as inspecting in-use equipment for seeps and leaks.
- Maintain the quality of inventory, including blended, bulk, or packaged products, and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Deliver products such as fertilizer, chemical, seed, feed, and others to customer sites, adhering to safety protocols and company policies.
- Keep all work areas clean, orderly, and safe, conducting regular housekeeping duties such as sweeping, shoveling, power washing, scraping, and cleaning up spills.
- Perform grounds maintenance, including snow removal, and warehouse work, including driving a loader, loading/unloading inventory, forklift operation, and general maintenance.
- Report any customer complaints, repair or maintenance needs, or safety concerns to the supervisor promptly.
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture, following all safety policies, procedures, and regulations, and identifying and communicating workplace hazards.
- Knowledge of operations and/or business operations.
- Meet minimum age requirement.
- Ability to operate machinery such as loaders, conveyors, tractors, and track mobile.
- Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons to meet business demands.
- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- CDL license or ability to attain one with Hazmat endorsement preferred.
- Agriculture experience preferred.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- Ability to lift 75 pounds.
- Ability to climb rail cars, ladders, stairs, and bins.
- Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures.
