Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and caring Child Watch Attendant to join our team at the Central Connecticut Coast YMCA. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about working with children and providing exceptional support to families.

About the Role

The Child Watch Attendant will be responsible for ensuring the well-being and safety of children in our care, while also maintaining a positive and welcoming atmosphere. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and possess a strong ability to multitask.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality childcare services to children aged 3-12 years old;
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment, adhering to all health and safety guidelines;
  • Develop and implement engaging activities and programs that promote child development;
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's daily activities and needs;
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure seamless service delivery.
Requirements
  • Degree or Diploma in Early Childhood Education or related field;
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with children, preferably in a childcare setting;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends;
  • First Aid and CPR certification required.

The Central Connecticut Coast YMCA offers a competitive salary of $$45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as a range of benefits, including:
