We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Care Coordinator to join our dynamic team at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth delivery of patient care services. Your primary responsibility will be to coordinate patient appointments, communicate with patients and families, and work closely with healthcare providers to ensure seamless care transitions.
Key Responsibilities- Scheduling and Coordination: Schedule patient appointments, coordinate with other departments, and communicate schedule changes to patients and families.
- Patient Communication: Provide exceptional customer service, answer patient questions, and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Documentation and Data Entry: Update patient and caregiver contact information in electronic health records, and enter demographic and insurance information into registration databases.
- Financial Clearance: Assist with the financial clearance process, including collecting and verifying patient information.
- Portal Access: Coordinate Commercial Cell Therapy Portal Access (IMTX) and distribute work to the Program Assistant and/or Patient Care Coordinator Assistant as needed.
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in the use of word processing, email, and data entry in a Windows-based environment.
- Customer Service Skills: Demonstrated customer service skills, with the ability to solve complex problems and meet patient needs.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to review work to identify and eliminate errors and omissions.
- Education: Bachelor's degree (BA or BS).
- Experience: Previous medical office/hospital experience coordinating physician appointments and patient services highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with medical terminology, EPIC (highly preferred) and/or RIS, or any electronic medical records system.
