Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Technician to join our team at Giant Eagle Inc. As a key member of our food production team, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of food products in our Fresh Foods Manufacturing Commissary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare food products using standardized recipes and methods, utilizing a range of equipment including Combi Ovens, CQC Wave Cooker, Automated Grill and Fry Lines, Blast Chillers, and Sous Vide Tanks.
  • Inspect food ingredients and equipment to maintain quality standards and sanitation regulations.
  • Coordinate and perform equipment and plant sanitation as needed.
  • Maintain accurate production records, HACCP, and QA documentation to ensure compliance with federal, state, county, and company requirements.
  • Control quality and production costs through strict adherence to recipes and production procedures, monitoring waste and loss, and improving work efficiencies.
  • Inspect and evaluate equipment requirements to ensure efficiency and safety.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by ensuring compliance with food safety, food holding, temperature, Giant Eagle, and OSHA standards.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in cooking, catering, or large volume batch cooking.
  • Associate's degree in Culinary Arts or related field.
  • Certification or licensing in Food Safety desired.
  • Lifting requirement: up to 50 pounds.
  • Age requirement: at least 18 years old.
