Paint and Body Technician

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Paint and Body Technician to join our team at REV Group. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality finishes on our vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prep, sand, and buff painted vehicles to a high standard
  • Tape and mask non-painted surfaces to prevent damage
  • Seal body seams with epoxy and smooth for final paint
  • Grind and fill welds, dents, and gouges with body filler and sand to finish
  • Sand and shape body filler around transitions and body lines
  • Spray primer on areas where body filler was applied
  • Wipe down areas to be painted with grease and wax remover
  • Sand painted surfaces to remove orange peel texture
  • Operate a buffer and understand the steps to buff paint to a proper finish
  • May be required to climb on vehicles and wear fall protection
  • Must maintain a safe and clean work area to 6S standards
Requirements
  • Preferred 1-year experience in automotive paint prep and body repair
  • Preferred high school diploma or GED
  • Ability to run dual action sanders, grinders, and hand tools
  • Must have full knowledge of quality requirements for acceptable finish paint
  • Ability to communicate professionally and follow directions
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to learn how to mix primers and other paint products
  • Ability to perform tasks within time standards and maintain quality standards
  • Must have general knowledge of OSHA and EPA standards
Physical Demands
  • Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, and climbing ladders and scaffolding
  • Ability to regularly lift and move 40 lbs. without assistance
  • Ability to work with arms above head
  • Ability to work from ladders or scaffolding
  • Ability to operate and understand protective safety equipment
  • Ability to wear a dust mask and/or respirator
  • Ability to work in non-temperature-controlled environments
  • Ability to work in 95+ degree temperatures for 10 hours a day
  • Ability to stand at a workstation for 10 hours a day (minus breaks)
