Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Automation Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Automation, Digital, & Learning organization, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering process automation systems for biopharmaceutical manufacturing equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interface with project leadership and other project disciplines to ensure automation requirements and scope are understood.
  • Responsible for generating detailed automation design documents and test plans to ensure alignment with agreed technical approach and compliance with functional specifications.
  • Resolve technical questions and concerns through interaction with customers, vendors, and internal personnel.
  • Perform overall project lead role for smaller scope projects.
  • Participate in Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, or related STEM Major and 3+ years of process automation experience in a regulated industry.
  • Comprehensive understanding of and strong hands-on experience with application development and system/hardware integration using Rockwell, AVEVA/Wonderware, Emerson, or Siemens PLC/DCS systems.
  • Knowledge of common industrial communication protocols such as Profibus, OPC, and EtherNet/IP.
  • Knowledge of UL/IEC/NFPA standards for control panels and how they apply to designs.
  • Experience with stage gate engineering design processes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Configuration of AVEVA Pi Asset Framework templates and Pi Vision displays.
  • Applying GAMP 5 and Software Development Lifecycle Management.
  • Knowledge of governing regulations, specifically 21 CFR part 11 and Eudralex Volume 4 Annex 11.
