Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nurse RN to join our team at Seafield Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support.
Main Function:The primary function of this role is to assist in maintaining the highest level of care for all patients. This includes acting as a health coordinator, providing nursing assessments and consultations, and ensuring the provision of education, risk reduction, counseling, and referral services to patients regarding various health issues.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Document all pertinent nursing care matters in the client's electronic medical record (EMR).
- Provide nursing assessments and consultations to patients, including perspective and actual patients.
- Maintain records of all infection control matters pertaining to patients and staff.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
- Assure the provision of education, risk reduction, counseling, and referral services to patients regarding HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, hepatitis, sexually transmitted diseases, and other communicable diseases.
- Follow universal precautions and utilize appropriate infection control measures.
- Supervise same-sex urine sample collection for toxicology.
- Administer breathalyzer and alcohol swabs.
- Attend job-related meetings and in-service lectures.
- Inform the office manager of general office and medical supplies as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Perform admission nursing assessments and make appropriate nursing diagnoses based on that assessment.
- Assess client's psychiatric history and current psychiatric status.
- Administer medications as ordered by the physician (MAT programs), understand basic pharmacology, and perform PPDs (intradermal skin test).
- Proficient in basic nursing skills and competent in taking an electrocardiogram and blood pressure.
- Age-specific clinical skills related to the adolescent and geriatric client.
- Proficient in computer usage, including the EMR system, Microsoft Outlook, and other information systems.
- Current New York State Registered Nurse licensure.
- CPR certification.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach. The position may on occasion require the employee to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned and makes general observations.
The salary for this position is $35 - $37 per hour.
