About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Apprentice Railcar Cleaner. As a key member of our railcar cleaning operations, you will assist experienced cleaners in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our railcars.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in setting up and operating cleaning equipment, hoses, hand tools, power tools, pumps, sampling devices, measuring devices, protective clothing, and air respirators.
  • Review and follow current safety and cleaning procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Perform cleaning duties, including removing excess commodity from railcars, handling drums, and working in confined spaces with proper protective equipment.
  • Hook up cleaning equipment to tank cars and maintain all tools and equipment in proper working condition.
  • Manually hydro-blast and clean areas inside and outside of railcars to prepare for paint applications.
  • Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly manner and comply with established safety policies.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous cleaning experience in a commercial or industrial setting or related training preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, including safety rules, work orders, and operating instructions.
  • Willingness to obtain certifications in Visual Testing, Bubble Leak Test, and Air Brake Test.
  • Ability to lift up to 85 pounds, push/pull up to 140 pounds, and work in extreme temperature environments.
