We are seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to join our team at Soliant near Marco Island, Florida. As an interpreter, you will play a vital role in facilitating communication and ensuring accessibility for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.

Job Overview

This position involves interpreting spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa, supporting effective interaction between students, teachers, and staff in a school setting. If you have a passion for fostering inclusion and supporting students, we encourage you to apply.

About the Position

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1+ years of experience as an interpreter, with proficiency in ASL and familiarity with Deaf culture. National certification through RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) or equivalent is preferred. A Bachelors degree in Interpreting, American Sign Language (ASL), or a related field is also highly desirable.

Responsibilities
  • Provide accurate interpretation services in educational settings, including classrooms, meetings, and school activities.
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to adapt instructional materials and activities as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards of interpreting.
  • Monitor student progress and assist in fostering an inclusive environment.
  • Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities.
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive hourly rate of up to $40/hour, along with a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance for you and your eligible dependents.

Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in Interpreting, American Sign Language (ASL), or a related field (preferred).
  • National certification through RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in ASL and familiarity with Deaf culture.
  • Prior experience as an interpreter in educational settings is preferred.
