Marine Species Conservation Specialist

Waterfront Restoration is committed to preserving Minnesota lakes and protecting them from ecologically harmful aquatic invasive species (AIS). As a Marine Species Conservation Specialist, you will play a crucial role in educating the public about AIS threats and conducting thorough inspections on watercraft at multiple lakes throughout Ramsey County.

The position requires excellent verbal communication skills, customer relations experience, and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks. You must be willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions and have the physical stamina to walk, stand, and move around the boat launch area.

This part-time opportunity runs from mid-May to September and requires availability on weekends. If you are a student, teacher, or 55+, this could be an ideal job for you. The estimated annual salary for this position is $30,000-$40,000, depending on location and qualifications.

Job Responsibilities:

• Educate the public on AIS programs and current issues
• Inspect watercraft for invasive species inbound and outbound
• Conduct verbal surveys
• Document inspection activities
• Maintain current knowledge of best practices while inspecting watercraft

Qualifications:
